Too often I get phone calls from distressed clients who have spent time and money on a website just to find out that they were not happy with the service that they received or the end result. What happened is that they found 5 graphic design studio whilst searching on google; made a few enquiries on the phone and based their decision entirely on the price they were given over the phone. They would have been quoted for a so called ‘ starter package’ or a ‘ business beginner package’ which would seem fine for the uninitiated. They would have gone away thinking that they are going to get a beautifully designed website that had all the bells and whistles just as they were promised over the phone. The sales rep would have sworn that the website that they would get would clearly relate to their business and boost sales by 1000%. This is where the problems begin. No proper brief was undertaken by the studio and they knocked up a template driven design in a morning , handed it over to the client and sent them on their merry way. This is NOT a way one should embark on their online journey. Unfortunately, this is now becoming more and more prevalent and its agencies who they turn to when they are desperate and in need of strong website design , advice and direction.
