The old story ...

I know it's an old story, but every time I come across these sites I still get a bit angry.
Have a look at this contest for example:

This client obviously knows what he wants for a logo. But he also knows that he's only going to pay $300 for it.
Ok, we don't want these kind of cheap clients anyway. And there will always be a 'designer' who will work for little money.
But how do these 'designs' change the client's perception of a good design and a professional logo?
I am really interested in your opinion out there.
