Free pitching in an online world?
17th December, 2008 by Shamus Hoare
Hey - does anyone have thoughts on sites such as http://www.bootb.com ?
It's a new(ish) way of "tendering" - well, free pitching really - and at a quick glance it t is attracting quite a bit of attention from more and more client based business'. I've been watching it for a few weeks, and thought I might see if anyone else has thoughts on it.
It's easy, straight forward, but obviously lacks the personal touch most of us (I'm assuming) still desire. We're never sure about working with clients we've not met, but as people seem to be getting more comfortable with online communication we'd had conversations in the studio about sites like this becoming more sophisticated and appealing, to both clients and freelance based artists. It's not a large issue for us, as we do not really do much advertising work, but we did have a client the other day comment that a bunch of marketing folk were beginning to push this as a "better" way to get creative outcomes. My first post here - interested to see if it goes anywhere.
Cheers.
