Adobe CS4
3rd February, 2009 by Tess McCabe
Has anyone had a chance to have a good play around with CS4 as yet? While CS2 meets all my needs at present, I would love for InDesign to have some kind of table style/auto formatting that isn't too finicky.
Also does anyone know if/where one can test the new CS4 (online, at a Melbourne retailer etc).
Cheers.

CS3 has this feature and it's very easy to use. Time you upgraded.
The recent CS4 Roadshows had Adobe staffers handing out 'try an evaluation copy of CS4 for free' leaflets to the audience, and I guess they will still be offering this promotion online if you missed the Roadshow. Retail stores might do it too - but are likely to charge you a nominal admin fee.

If you are interested, just download a copy of the 30 day trial of Indesign and have a bit of a play. That is what we normally do before purchasing any new software. (and we make sure our printer can take the native files for it too)

There are InDesign User Groups (www.indesignusergroup.com) you can attend too. There's one in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
