48: A Crossroads
28th July, 2010 by Liana Lucca-Pope
48 was another dazzling success on Monday. Facilitated/organised/designed by the ever generous Andrew Ashton from Studio Pip & Co; speakers were asked to respond to the idea of being at a crossroads, a significant moment, encounter or situation that brought about a change in direction or a clarification. There were some inspiring, fascinating, eclectic and entertaining responses from these lovely people:
Laura Cornhill, Studio Binocular (had lost her voice and used “text to speech” to brilliant and hilarious effect)
Di Elderton, Argonaut studio (illuminated by a Brian Sadgrove homily)
Dominic Forde, Famous Visual Services
Raafat Ishak (offering a creative solution to repeated rejection)
Darren Henderson, Dirtygood
Tim Hocking and Tommy Elliot, Newbirds (I know it looked like we just stared at you guys but we were rocking on the inside)
Aaron Moodie, The People Collective
Pete Salmon, Salmon Design (seems to have spent much of his working life covered in blood before discovering design)
Tim Kentley, XYZ Studios (and the little motorbike guy who transformed Tim’s horizons)
Special thanks for: bowl of chocolates at the door
Sorry to miss: Gary Wilson yelling at people through the megaphone (the speakers were just too efficient with their time!)
